Highland Utah - a city in Utah County, Utah,USA

Highland, Utah is a city in Utah County, Utah, United States. It is approximately 30 miles (48 km) south of Salt Lake City and is part of the Provo–Orem Metropolitan Statistical Area. According to the 2010 census the population was 15,523, a 90.0% increase over the 2000 figure of 8,172.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 8.5 square miles (22.1 km2), all of it land.

Highland was settled by homesteaders in the 1870s. It was named by Scottish Mormon immigrants who felt the area resembled the highlands of Scotland.

Highland Public schools are part of the Alpine School District. Vern Henshaw is the Superintendent of Schools.
